Family Pictures

While I was home over Christmas my family had our semi-annual picture taken. It's always an adventure, partly because the Wal-Mart photo center has a maximum of 10 people--and we've reached that limit so we always have to squeeze together really tightly--and partly because half of the family is under the age of 12 so we have to resort to all sorts of tricks to get everyone to smile at the same time. I sometimes wish that you could hear what's going on behind the scenes of this peaceful looking picture. At one point we were singing "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" to try to get Ben, who is 8, to smile naturally. It didn't really work, but he's still cute. Thankfully, older brother Lucas has figured out that the faster you smile right the sooner you get done, the girls just like to have their picture taken, and Nathan is still easily amused by the photographer's tricks.

And here are the six cutest people in the family, oh woops, I mean, here are the kids with Aunt Jen. Nathan is protesting because we kept saying "just one more picture, Nathan!" which by that point he had figured out was a lie.
